For a large number of corporate users, a number of them
in the Fortune 500 list, there is an urgent need to move
their current applications - with all the trappings of systems
and processes that evolved over decades on HPe3000 systems
to newer platforms. This change over has to take place within
a time window of 3 years before the support for the systems
is discontinued as per current policy announcements.
HPe3000 systems have been used for
commercial operations – with emphasis on “On
Line Transaction Processing” (OLTP). Hence, the services
that the clients will need will be almost like ERP. Their
need to move their applications - sturdy systems working
satisfactorily and using good software tools including database
engines - to available alternative target platforms, with
existing functionalities as well as with some re engineering.
